Pedestrian on motorway claimed he was ‘following sat-nav’

A man who was caught walking on a motorway claimed he was following sat-nav directions to a tram stop, police have said.

North West Motorway Police were alerted to a pedestrian near Junction 21 on the M60 just after 20:40 GMT on Sunday.

After being stopped by officers, he was issued a Traffic Offence Report, which means he could face a fine.

A force spokesman said on Facebook that people using sat-navs should “always be aware” of their surroundings.
