A learner driver “has a lot of learning left to do”, said police, who pulled him over when they noticed his window was held together with gaffer tape.

The driver was unsupervised, not displaying L-plates and neither he nor the child in the back were wearing seatbelts.

Officers stopped the car, which also had no brake lights, in Peterborough.

The driver was reported to court where he faces charges relating to a number of suspected motoring offences.

These included driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to maintain the brake lights, not wearing a seatbelt, and carrying passengers in a manner likely to cause injury.

Writing about the incident on Twitter, they quipped the driver “has a lot of learning left to do”, and added “hopefully the judge will educate him”.
