Liverpool want Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne to replace Philippe Coutinho if the playmaker is sold to Barcelona.

According to The Mirror, manager Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the 26-year-old, who usually operates on the left of Napoli’s attack.

Insigne, who has a contract running until 2022, scored 18 Serie A goals last season and created nine, but despite Napoli insisting he is not for sale, the money Liverpool are likely to get from selling Coutinho may be enough to tempt them.

The Brazilian handed in a transfer request on Friday and could cost Barcelona as much as £100million.
