BREAKING: Massive fire tears through London’s Golders Green – dozens injured in blaze

Around 25 people have fled the block after the fire when the fire broke out at 7.30am this morning.

Three people, including children, were evacuated from an upper floor window and led to safety by firefighters.

A spokeswoman for London Fire Brigade said: “Five people have been rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus from a fire in a shop with flats above it on Princess Parade, off Golders Green Road, Golders Green.

“Three people have been rescued via a ladder, two were led to safety by crews and 25 people evacuated before the arrival of the Brigade.

“All of the ground floor of the shop and half of the second floor of the building is alight and over 70 firefighters and officers are currently tackling the fire.

“10 fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from stations including Hendon, West Hampstead, Finchley and Mill Hill fire stations are at the scene.”

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
